Week 1: February 15th - February 17th
Wednesday February 17th: Students will review 6th Grade content related to the Rock Cycle to ensure a solid foundation before discussing Law of Superposition, Radiometric Dating, etc. in Unit 8E2 (Earth History).
Thursday February 18th: Students will be introduced to the differing forms of fossil formations, touching on the concept on how such can provide clues into our Earth's past. Remaining time will be provided for students to practice new vocabulary words via Quizlet. Friday February 19th: Students will continue the exploration of observing Earth's past by taking a look at the Geologic Time Scale. Following guided notes, a video will be introduced to further visuals on the concept. |

Week 2: February 20th - February 24th
Monday February 20th: Students will explore Earth's past with a comprehensive video on Earth History by National Geographic. Guided video notes will be provided.
Tuesday February 21st: Students will be introduced to the concept of relative vs. absolute dating via guided skeleton notes. Additional time will be provided to practice unit vocabulary. Wednesday February 22nd: Students will practice relative vs. absolute dating through critical thinking questions (Mud Puddle). Thursday and Friday February 23rd and 24th: Students will practice the concept of radioactive (absolute) dating by a half-life virtual laboratory. |
