Friday January 13th: Students will become more proficient in 8L1 vocabulary through a Vocabulary Sort (whole-group) and expand their knowledge on bacteria via a reading guide. This will occur as homework over the weekend, and be reviewed on Tuesday (upon return). |

Tuesday January 17th: Students will expand their knowledge on fungi via a reading guide, in which they will work to annotate and respond to critical questions. Historical context via videos will be provided. Homework (Bacteria Guide) will also be discussed. Wednesday January 18th: Students will review viruses, bacteria and fungi via a chart led as a whole-group discussion. Time will be provided to review Quizlet 8L1. Thursday January 19th: Students will review viruses, bacteria and fungi through a Venn Diagram. Friday January 20th: Study Hall per Early Release Activities |

Part 1 includes the identification of an unknown disease as well as the development of discharge instructions for a patient with the disease. Thursday February 2nd: Students will be introduced to the Unit Project, The Great Epidemic PBL. Part 1 includes the identification of an unknown disease as well as the development of discharge instructions for a patient with the disease. Friday February 3rd: As part of Part 1 of the project, students will participate in the "Clinic," where students will identify which patient is infected with "their" disease. |
