The following lesson plans are scaffolded for students with an ESL background, particularly WIDA English Development (ED) background of "Entering" (Level 1) or "Emerging" (Level 2). Please note, the provided translations aren't entirely accurate, but are better than not being provided regardless.

Thursday November 3rd: Students will draw an accurate representation of an atom, labeling the parts. When complete, the student will study the diagram. It is encouraged to use "subtitles" on the video provided for language acquisition.
Friday November 4th: Students will be able to draw and label an atomic model. Students will follow directions as a whole-group, as such is not vocabulary intensive. A document will be provided in Spanish. For "drawing" purposes. Monday November 7th: Students will be introduced to Lewis Dot Structures. A Spanish version will be presented to students as needed. It is a decoding and mathematically based concept. Tuesday November 8th: Students will complete a whole-group review as a class via Kahoot. Wednesday November 9th: Students will complete a modified assessment on concept 8P1.2. Thursday November 10th: Students will be introduced to Chemical vs. Physical Properties via a modified Skeletal Notes Introduction (Whole-Group). Monday November 21st: Students will complete a CK12 Packet. This will be modified to address the core concepts. Tuesday November 22nd: Students will compete in a Jeopardy review as a whole-group. |
